Using energy efficiently.

The relationship of effort to the achievable benefit is called efficiency. Efficient behaviour results in the achievement of an effect,  that reduces the effort required for it and saves resources. It is precisely this characteristic which distinguishes our vehicles. Since the introduction of the integrated blue light system in 2004 (Hornis KTW), we have been working consistently on reducing fuel consumption and the associated ed CO2 emissions. The selection of the materials used is also aimed at a low overall weight of the vehicles.

The main products (Hornis KTW, Tauris KTW, Delfis RTW and Tigis RTW) use the applied energy like no other in their class, namely particularly efficiently due to the light weight materials (ABS plastic) used in the interior, the low consumption and long life LED technology and the aerodynamic roof structures.

Part of this efficiency should be proved during the wind tunnel test of Daimler AG in Stuttgart on 31/03/2009. Because everything that could basically only be assumed should be proved for the first time.  The question was: Do the patient transport and emergency ambulances from Ambulanz Mobile really have so good aerodynamics as promised by the brochures or do they simply only look good? The result: The vehicles have a sensational cd-value. The shape of the vehicles is so good that further optimisation attempts also produced no more improvements.

The result: Our vehicles reduce not only the current operating costs due to the reduction of energy consumption (LED technology), material wear (light weight interior finishing), reduction of the air resistance (aerodynamic roof structure) and the associated fuel consumption. They also make their contribution to the preservation of our environment with the recyclable ABS interior panelling and with the use of already recycled materials.
