The History

The first production hall

Ambulanz Mobile GmbH & Co. KG Schönebeck, near Magdeburg in Sachsen-Anhalt, was founded on the premises of the former VEB Traktorenwerk Schönebeck in 1991 with 6 employees at the start. In the course of a rapid advancement characterised by adherence to delivery dates, quality and innovative product ideas, the company quickly advanced to being one of the most in demand vehicle converters in Germany and in the meantime exports Europe wide.

  • July 1, 1991 Ambulanz Mobile GmbH is founded with six employees.
  • January 1992 The first special vehicle is finished: a disabled transport vehicle 
    (BTW). Until 1994, this type of vehicle is built exclusively for East German customers.
  • 1993 First West German customer: The Johanniter from Kiel.
  • 1995 The first motor vehicle mechanic apprenticeship is set up. Start of production for Emergency Doctor's Vehicles (NEF) and Patient Transport Ambulances (KTW).
  • June 6, 1997 Debut at the 17th rescue service national congress in Nürnberg 
    with an emergency doctor's vehicle and a patient transport ambulance.
  • 1998 Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001. The first two emergency ambulances are based on the VW LT 35. The brand name "Ambuliner" is coined.
  • May 2000 Dynamic tests with patient transport ambulance at TÜV Rheinland in Cologne.
  • May 19, 2001 The "New Ambuliner" with a headroom of 1.90 m 
    is presented at the first RETTmobil in Fulda.
  • 2004 The "Hornis" is built based on the VW T5 for the first time.
  • 2006 One of the most modern emergency ambulances in Europe is presented to the public. The Delfis celebrates its premiere.
  • January 2007  The new "Salzland" production hall was completed. The first integrated production of patient transport and emergency ambulances has been put into operation on approx. 4,500 m² of production area and a further 800 m² of offices and social rooms. 
    The Minister for Economic Affairs and Labour of the federal state Sachsen-Anhalt, Dr. Haseloff, made a special present for the opening of the new production hall. The company Ambulanz Mobile GmbH & Co. KG was selected as company of the month.
  • May 10, 2007 The Hornis product family has got reinforcement: the new Hornis Blue.
  • 2008 Premiere of the Tauris at the RETTmobil. It is a PTA based on VW Crafter and MB Sprinter (panel van).
  • 2008 Also a premiere of the Hornis Silverline.
  • 2009 Our first ambulance vehicle as a box body is presented to the public.
  • 2010 Premiere of the Tigis Ergo at RETTmobil in Fulda. This ambulance vehicle as a box body pursuades with its innovative and ergonomically designed interior.
  • 2010 Premiere of our first righthand drive ambulance vehicle based on the Delfis.
