The new HORNIS SPACELINE was developed specially for the Volkswagen T6.1. However, it comes with its own roof construction which is specially adapted to future requirements.


The basis for the design was the Volkswagen Transporter T6.1 in the high roof version. The aim was to integrate the standard, high rear doors and the high sliding door, but still create more space. The result is a dynamic exterior design with a completely new sense of space.



Since 1999 we have tested our products dynamically. With 99 tests (as of 2015) we are leaders in vehicle safety. The high level of expertise in this area helps us to make our rescue vehicles safer. The HORNIS SPACELINE is also manufactured with our high safety standards so that you can feel safe and secure.

The exterieur

Roof construction
The new developed roof structure made of fibre composites is extended at the front, side and manages to stay compact and integrate a dynamic line management.

Light technology
Efficient high performance LEDs sit in the interlocking blue light modules integrated in the roof structure. They provide an uncompromising road presence during emergency drives. In the case of service, they are easy to see from the outside.

In the front, the two overhead blue light modules serve as a standard blue light. Underneath there are two optional power flash modules to assist with a higher power consumption. The blue frame with optional LED backlighting is located centrally.



Work light and tail light
As an additional tail light, a red LED bar is positioned positively in the roof at the back on each side. Above there are blue light modules with blue light and blinking LEDs. Towards the centre the LED work lights provide illumination during service. They optimally illuminate the area behind your vehicle and offer good working conditions in low-light conditions. Above the work lights is the third brake light which is centrally positioned.

The operation

The HORNIS SPACELINE is operated on the bright control panels. Whether the sound system, blue light or air-conditioning: a press on the button is enough. The different colours of the buttons are generated by organic light emitting diodes. They give you feedback on whether the function is enabled, disabled or defective. If a fuse is defective, for instance, the corresponding function button lights up red.
