Ergonomic ambulance vehicles and KMP extensions

Ergonomics from the onset

You will notice it quickly. No matter whether you are travelling in a MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit), PTA (Patient Transport Ambulance), or AA with extensions for ease of use. The topic of ergonomics is always present in our vehicle upgrades. To this end, we take different ways as early as the development phase. This guarantees you the best working conditions. After all, occupational safety and ergonomics are also a must.

A simple principle with a big impact

In essence, our interior fittings do not differ from those of others. We just went one step further and changed the shape. This minimises potential injury and improves your working conditions.

Ergonomic MICA

At first, we asked ourselves how we could make our MICA and PTA even more ergonomic. Subsequently, a consultant for occupational safety and medicine analysed the work of the first responders. Finally, e.g. the door handles could be shifted so that a natural movement of the human body is completed when opening the doors. In addition, the entire system of the side door has been optimised for quick and easy operation. As a result, the first responder’s effort was reduced, significantly reducing the risk of strain.

Easier and safer

Make handling faster and easier. That was also our goal with the divided apothecary cabinet. From the model year 2010, MICAs come with this apothecary cabinet. This design significantly reduces the effort required to open. As a result, the cabinet can also be opened quickly.

Furthermore, the lower part of the apothecary cabinet serves as a practical storage space. This is because previously the seated first responders were only able to place their medical equipment on the worktop which were positioned unfavourably behind them. Now, it is possible for the first responders to care for the patient without spraining or twisting themselves. The bottom line is that a simple solution makes your job faster, easier, and safer.

Ergonomics in detail

Maybe you know that too. While you are taking care of the patient in the MICA, the following happens. As a result of a quick movement, you will knock against the handle of the cabinet. This is followed by a painful experience. We countered this problem by developing new deflectors. They divert the movement, thus preventing potential injuries. This will make your job much more enjoyable. Especially safer!

Accessories for ergonomic way of working

There are many ergonomic details in MICA and PTA extensions. Nevertheless, the optional accessories increase the ergonomics of your ambulance as well. For example, the medical devices carrier. It was specially developed for the needs of first responders and paramedics. Especially for you! Once the individual height has been set, you have everything in view, and always under control.

Moreover, it designed to make routine handling easier: The holder for the vacuum mattress. It not only allows space-saving stowage of the vacuum mattress. It also allows “easily handing”. The movement follows a semicircle when it is removed. The vacuum mattress easily overcomes the required height difference. Finally, it has a comfortable height. This makes it quick and easy to remove.
